Sterilization Certificates
Shepherd can now automatically generate a Sterilization Certificate when an eligible sterilization procedure is performed. Certificates are stored on the patient record, can be downloaded, emailed, or previewed, and are available to clients through the Pet Portal.
To toggle on this setting, navigate to: Admin > Clinic Settings > Financial Settings > Invoice Settings > "Include Sterilization Certificate on Invoice"
Feature Enhancements
Whiteboard New Layout and Hourly View
The Whiteboard has been reimagined with a new layout and a suite of workflow improvements. Here's what's changed:
Two timeline views — Hourly groups treatments by hour; Priority organizes by STAT, PRN, Scheduled, and Upcoming. Each user's choice saves across sessions and devices.
Patient info at a glance — each row shows species, breed, sex, age, weight, location, check-in time, supervising doctor, and CPR/DNR status. Hovering a client name shows contact details.
Color-coded treatment cards — Hourly cards show urgency at a glance (red = overdue, amber = due within 15 minutes, grey = later). Expand a row for full treatment details.
Direct treatment actions — Go to Visit, Add Vitals, Add Treatment, and View without leaving the board.
Live updates — changes in the visit sync to the Whiteboard automatically, with a background refresh every 90 seconds.
Filters — search by patient name, filter by doctor or location, and navigate by date from the header.
Pinned columns — patient info on the left and Actions on the right stay fixed while the middle columns scroll.
Tablet support — compact layout with stacked buttons and icon-only controls.
Time Clock Consistent CSV and PDF Exports
Time Clock exports now use consistent columns, labels, and totals across all export types. The Export menu offers CSV, PDF, and Custom Export — including PDFs for custom date ranges.
Scheduled Appointment Notification Timing Refinement
Appointment SMS reminders scheduled outside the 6:00 AM–8:00 PM sending window are now saved and sent at the next available time rather than dropped. Reminders shift to the next 6:00 AM, or to 8:00 PM the evening before if 6:00 AM would fall within 15 minutes of the appointment.
Message wording doesn't update automatically. If a reminder uses phrasing like "your appointment today," review whether it still makes sense if the reminder shifts to the prior evening.
Reporting Enhancements
End of Day Report Tab Order
The tab order in the End of Day Report has been reversed to surface summary-level data first. New order: Totals | Cash Reconciliation | Payments | Invoices.
Separated Client Name and Address Columns in Report CSV Exports
Report CSV exports now split client name and address into separate columns, making exported data easier to sort, filter, and use in other tools. This applies across all affected report sections. On-screen reports and PDFs keep their existing format.
Column names and positions have changed. Any saved spreadsheets, mail merges, or import mappings that pull from these reports may need to be updated.
Shepherd AI Enhancements
TranscribeAI Recording Across Shepherd and Treatment Suggestions
Recording While Navigating
While a TranscribeAI session is active, the recording widget stays visible as you move through Shepherd — letting you pause, resume, stop, or jump back to the originating visit from wherever you are. If you stop the recording away from the visit, processing happens in the background and a notification appears when the notes are ready to review. One recording can be active per staff member at a time.
Treatment Suggestions
After saving a TranscribeAI session, Shepherd identifies treatments mentioned in the recording and surfaces them under TranscribeAI-recorded Treatments in Order Treatments on the Plan tab. Staff search the catalog using the suggested term and choose the right product — nothing is added or charged automatically. Suggestions expire after 48 hours.
SummarizeAI 'Outside Normal Range' Filter
SummarizeAI Lab Work now includes an Outside interval only toggle for lab results on the Patient Profile and in the visit. Turning it on hides results that fall within the normal range, so you can focus on what's flagged — without changing the underlying results.
