When controlled medications are invoiced, dispensed, or administered in Shepherd, the details automatically sync to Vet S8. This eliminates manual transcription into paper logbooks and reduces the risk of errors during reconciliation.

When Shepherd is connected to Vet S8, controlled drug entries flow directly into Vet S8’s pending list.
Each time a veterinarian records a controlled drug administration or dispense in Shepherd, the following details automatically transfer:
Patient name
Veterinarian name
Drug
Quantity
This removes the need for double entry and ensures your controlled drug register stays aligned with your medical and invoicing records.

Activating the Vet S8 Integration
Step 1: Sign Up for Vet S8
If you are not yet using Vet S8, begin by signing up with Modeus.
Step 2: Provide Your Clinic ID
After signing up, provide your Shepherd Clinic ID to Modeus Support.
Step 3: Complete Onboarding
You will receive an onboarding email from Modeus with step-by-step instructions and training materials. This process includes:
Linking inventory items
Adding new medications
Setting up Vet S8 within your Shepherd dashboard
Modeus Support will guide you through setup to ensure everything is configured correctly.
