New Features

Post-Visit Survey Now Available

Post-Visit Surveys give practices an automated way to collect client feedback after appointments, monitor satisfaction over time, and optionally drive public reviews. The feature is configured under Admin > Client Communication > Post-Visit Survey.

Practices choose from three feedback modes:

  • Private Feedback Only — collects responses within Shepherd for internal review and reporting

  • Private Feedback + Optional Public Review — collects private feedback first, then can invite satisfied clients to leave a public review on a configured external platform

  • Public Reviews Only — routes clients directly to external review platforms; no Shepherd analytics are collected in this mode

Surveys send automatically after checkout based on configurable delivery timing, frequency limits, and appointment type eligibility. Responses are viewable in the Post-Visit Survey Dashboard under Client Responses, with satisfaction metrics, individual response details, follow-up tracking, and PDF and CSV export options.

Feature Updates

Automatic Appointment Notification Recalculation & History

Appointment reminders now automatically recalculate when the appointment type, notification settings, or schedule changes, ensuring clients receive notifications that reflect the current configuration. Already-sent reminders are preserved and not resent. Appointment History has also been expanded to show each reminder's channel, send time, and delivery outcome.

Improved PRN Administration Flexibility

When administration routes are updated on a product, those changes now automatically apply to future PRN treatment events in the Treatment Schedule and Treatment Plan. Staff can also choose a different route for a single dose without changing how future doses are prescribed — once that administration is complete, the treatment returns to its original route.

  • If a route is removed from the product, Shepherd automatically falls back to an available route; if none exist, the treatment cannot be administered until the product is updated

  • Completed administrations always preserve the route that was actually used

Chiropractic Canine Body Map Added

A new Chiropractic – Dog (Canine) body map is now available, giving veterinary teams a canine anatomical reference specifically suited to documenting chiropractic findings. No additional clinic configuration is required.

Dedicated Finance Charge Revenue in QuickBooks Journal Entry Report

Finance charges now have their own revenue classification in the QuickBooks Journal Entry Report, replacing the previous grouping under Static Price Bundles. Clinics using QuickBooks mappings may need to add a one-time mapping for the new Finance Charges category. Historical reports will use the new classification when rerun — prior period presentation may change without affecting underlying revenue.

Shepherd AI Updates

TranscribeAI Improved Veterinary Brand & Medication Recognition

TranscribeAI now more accurately recognizes veterinary medication and product names during dictation — including Simparica Trio, Felimazole, Seresto, Cerenia, Bravecto, Solensia, DepoMedrol, and cefpodoxime — reducing manual correction before information reaches the medical record. Improved recognition carries through into applicable Field Review medication and plan fields.

TranscribeAI Recording Connection & Diagnostics

TranscribeAI now displays a connection health indicator during active recordings — green when healthy, yellow during temporary interruptions (which can recover automatically), and red/lost when the connection fails, at which point the session pauses and the user is alerted.
