SOAP Pricing Calculator
A Pricing Calculator is now accessible within a SOAP. It is located in the upper right corner next to the Activity Log and Global Search - within any SOAP window. The calculator opens as a movable pop up and supports not only checking pricing quickly, but also sending products directly to Treatment Plans or Estimates.

Feature Updates
Volume Discount Pricing
Shepherd now supports flexible volume-based pricing, giving you more control over quantity-based discounts.
What You Need to Know
If a product is set up with a volume discount, the volume pricing takes priority. Other discounts, such as manually applied discounts or automatic client discounts, are not available.
You can configure volume discounts using percentage, fixed dollar amount, or quantity-based pricing tiers.
Discounts are calculated per line item and does not combine quantities across multiple line items.
Products added to a bundle, including static bundles, or wellness plans, are not eligible for volume discounts.
Reports that list discounts will differentiate volume discounts from other discounts. The former "Default Discount" label has been renamed to Fixed Discount.
Transaction Report & Credit Balance Activity
The Transaction Report now has a section for Credit Balance Activity for visibility into when credit balances are added to an account, as well as when they are used for payment on an invoice.
SOAP Pricing Visibility
You can now see pricing directly in the SOAP when you are ordering treatments, avoiding having to navigate to the charges tab or full invoice. You will also be able to see a current invoice total for quick reference of what is on the invoice, either from another visit or another patient.
Note: You can now also edit the quantity/dose directly under order treatments without having to click “edit” on the individual line item.
Pending Treatment Alerts
If you go to check out an invoice on a SOAP that still has unordered treatments pending, you will now see a warning pop up alerting you to double-check treatments for any missed charges.
Shepherd AI Updates
SummarizeAI
SummarizeAI has received updates to improve the clinical summary, including refinements on medication and vaccine information.
Vaccine Summary Updates
Vaccines added from the Patient Page > Vaccines tab now trigger SummarizeAI update notifications
Medication Summary Logic Improvements
The Medications & Supplements section now shows only medications prescribed through an Rx and not in-clinic administered items. This means that sedation, anesthesia, and injectable procedure-only medications no longer appear in summaries.
TranscribeAI
TranscribeAI is now available within Quick SOAP workflows, making it easier to capture documentation during brief rechecks, technician appointments, and follow-up visits.

Scritch provides practices with Emily, a virtual receptionist who handles every incoming call 24/7 — booking appointments, answering practice- and patient-specific questions, and writing structured tasks back into Shepherd for prescription refill requests, medical record requests, and doctor questions. CareCredit | Closed Beta
CareCredit is now integrated with Shepherd, so client financing status surfaces across appointments and invoices before you get to checkout, approved transactions write back to the invoice automatically, and your team never has to leave the workflow to make it happen. Learn more here.
