Shepherd Pay: Text-to-Pay

Securely collect payments by sending a link directly to clients via text messaging.

Requirements for Text-to-Pay:

1. Must be a Shepherd Pay customer

2. Shepherd Texting must be fully registered and enabled

Take a Look

Sending a Payment Link

  • At checkout:

    • Step 1 - Payment Type: enable the 'Shepherd Pay' toggle

    • Step 2 - Payment Amount: Enter a custom amount or select Pay All Invoices

  • Click the blue 'Send Payment Link' that will appear at the bottom of the 'Payment Information' section in the right column after steps 1 and 2 are complete

  • Select 'Confirm' in the pop-up, displaying the client's primary phone number

Right now the link will be sent to the primary phone number on the client's account. Keep an eye out for the ability to customize the number from the payment screen.

Note:

  • Payment links will expire after seven days

    • Only one payment link can be valid per client

  • All prior links will become inactive when you send a new payment link to the same client

Collecting Payment via Link

  1. Clients receive an SMS from your dedicated Shepherd Texting phone number stating:

    1. "Practice Name: Here's a link to make a payment: https://pay.shepherd.vet/XXXXXXXXX"

  2. Clients will have an option to enter a payment method or use existing payment cards saved on their account

Payment History

  1. Payments successfully made through the payment link will be recorded in financial reports and the Client Profile:

    1. Financial tab, under the 'Payment' section with a payment note: "Text to pay"

    2. History log
