At Vetsource®, we build the foundation for success, enabling pet healthcare professionals to thrive. Our data-powered platform simplifies processes and enriches communication, helping veterinary teams create tighter bonds with pet owners.

Our data integration tool connects to your practice information management system, PIMS, enabling patient and client info to be automatically populated in your Vetsource service. Data is refreshed nightly, ensuring your prescribing tools, communications, dashboards, and other services have access to the most up-to-date information.

Prescription Management — Pre-populating client and patient information into the prescription tools saves you time by automating previously manual processes, makes it easier for your team, reduces manual entry errors, and provides a seamless experience for pet owners. The included Pharmacy dashboard gives insight into your whole pharmacy performance, not just through home delivery. The integration also powers PetMail, an optional and free marketing service to help you drive awareness of your store and revenue for your practice.

In addition to the Vetsource Data Integration, enabling the Vetsource Rx Workflow Integration provides access to Vetsource Prescription Management workflows directly within the native Shepherd application, streamlining online scripting and providing a complete view of patients’ therapy plans. This is a separate, but compatible, integration that aims to reduce the steps of navigating between the two systems.

Client Engagement - This secure, reliable data connection links information from your practice management system (PIMS) to your Vet2Pet platform account. The integration imports client, patient, appointment, and transactional data from your PIMS to power the Vet2Pet platform features.

Data Services - Data from your PIMS is transformed into visually appealing, easy to interpret veterinary reports and dashboards that help you make informed, data-driven decisions for better practice management. Intuitive analytics feature trendlines and benchmarks that allow you to gain a deeper understanding of business performance. The solution also provides data management services, and automated marketing programs.

Activating the Integration

  1. Configure Integration in Shepherd

    1. Go into the Shepherd 'Admin' menu, click 'Integrations,' and select Vetsource. Once the Vetsource integration page is opened, toggle on the integration. (see image below)

  2. Copy your Clinic ID

    • Your clinic ID is in the 'Admin' menu under 'Clinic Settings'.

  3. Email the following information to Vetsource <datasupport@vetsource.com>

    • Clinic ID

    • Practice name

    • Practice address

    • Practice phone number

    • Contact name

    • Contact phone

    • Contact email

  4. Vetsource will complete the Shepherd connection for your practice and communicate any other onboarding steps to you.
