The goal is to ensure your captured images make their way into Shepherd, linked to the correct patient and SOAP.
Instead of a strict step-by-step process, consider the integration setup as a set of flexible checkpoints. It's normal to switch between systems as you go.
What You’ll Need
To complete your setup, you'll want to gather or generate:
IDEXX Web PACS User ID & Password
A Location Token from Web PACS
The AE Title, IP Address, and Port for the Web PACS server (used by your imaging system)
Your Capture Station’s AE Title, Modality Type, and Institution Name
You’ll also want to have access to both:
Shepherd (Admin > Integrations > IDEXX PACS Integration)
Your Web PACS account and capture station settings
Once you have the pieces above, you’re ready to:
Add IDEXX Web PACS as a destination in your capture software
Register Shepherd in Web PACS and copy over credentials
Connect your location and modality to match what’s used in Shepherd
Test an image to verify it reaches Shepherd correctly
If you're not sure whether something was completed correctly, that’s okay. The integration is flexible, and you can revisit any part to make adjustments as needed.
FAQs
Is VetMed Stat included in this integration?
Yes, since VetMedStat is part of Web PACS, you can create a Telemedicine Case, submit images, and receive the consult report in Web PACS.
Does IDEXX PACS integrate with Midmark Progeny?
Yes, as long as Midmark Progeny is running version 1.2 or higher. If you have an older version, Midmark offers free upgrades.
How does IDEXX Telemedicine work with this integration?
Once IDEXX Web PACS is live, your telemedicine account can be linked. This allows you to send a case to telemedicine, and when the report is ready, a link will be available within the patient card in Web PACS.
