Pet Portal | Updates

Here are some exciting new updates to the pet portal!

  • When new or existing clients request an appointment through the pet portal, they can only select days of the week your clinic is regularly open, based on your Clinic Availability in Office Hours settings.

  • The Preferred Doctor dropdown is now populated with your clinic's Doctor users. Clients can make a selection if they prefer a specific provider or skip it if they don't have a preference.

  • Visitors looking to request an appointment on your landing page will select their status as a new or existing client, directing them to the appropriate place to request their appointment.

    • New clients requesting an appointment from your pet portal landing page will have the option to provide their pet's information in the process. Name, species, breed, color(s), and DOB or age will provide additional information for your clinic up front, making scheduling the appointment easier.

    • Existing clients will be directed to log in to the pet portal for appointment requests. Plus, they'll bypass the Contact Info page for a quicker process.

Dashboard | Assigned to Me

  • Attention Doctors! You can now use the Assigned to Me button to filter the Dashboard and view only the patients for which you are the supervising doctor.

Diagnostics | Mark Completed

  • In the event you have a diagnostic that was not automatically completed, you can now use the ellipsis button on the line item under the diagnostics tab on the Dashboard to manually mark a lab as completed.

Reporting | Updates

  • A column has been added to track the production user on the Invoice Summary Report and the Accounts Receivable Report (under AR Invoice Balance section).

  • The Invoice Line Items Report now has columns to view the invoice total and remaining balance.

Schedule | Updates

Jump to Current Time

  • When you load the Appointments Schedule, you'll automatically be viewing the current time of day in the Provider view. When navigating through other views, you'll also automatically view the current time of day centered on your screen.

Drag and Drop Confirmation

  • When using the drag and drop feature on the Appointments Schedule to reschedule an appointment to a new day, time of day, or both, you'll receive a confirmation popup where you'll verify the change should be made and client notifications should be sent if applicable.

    • When you simply switch providers, but the date/time of the appointment does not change, you will not see this confirmation message, and no client notifications will be sent.

Patient Weight | Unit of Measure Visibility

  • A patient's weight is now shown in both kilograms (kg) and pounds (lb) in various places including when hovering on the Dashboard, Client Patient search. Tasks, and the Whiteboard. Patient weights in both units of measure are visible without hovering in the SOAP, Patient Profile, and when adding or editing a Task. Peep the signalment example below.

Clinic Login

  • Clinics can now create a Clinic Login which can be used by multiple computers allowing staff members to enter only their unique pin to log in to Shepherd.

Client History | Log Client Pet Portal Verification Email

  • In a client's profile history, you can now view a timestamped log of the pet portal verification email when it is sent to a client logging in. Use this to help troubleshoot if a client is having trouble accessing your pet portal.

Inventory Updates

  • You can now navigate to the Edit Item page for any inventory item from any location in which the item name appears. Item names are now visible hyperlinks or clickable rows, saving you time and clicks while navigating through Inventory. Try it out for yourself by clicking a row under Top Selling Items on the Inventory Dashboard.

  • Creating purchase orders just got faster! When adding new items to a purchase order, you can now select "Save & Add New" to save the existing item, and clear the form to add another without having to open the Add New Item window again manually. Just select Save & Close on the last item.

Bulk Edit | Updates

  • Bulk Edit has been moved away from user access. Please contact us directly if you need to use it.
