Shepherd Pay: Getting Started

Our all-in-one payment solution brings you simple payment processing, right from your practice management software!

Shepherd Pay is our complete payment processing system, allowing you to process and manage payments right from your practice management software!

Here's what you'll need to complete your application:

  • Federal Tax ID (EIN)

  • Banking Information

    • Voided Check or a Bank Letter that includes:

      • Business Name (DBA Name)

      • Account Number

      • Routing Number

  • Social Security Number (SSN)

  • Business Web Address (URL)

Follow these steps to submit your application:

  1. Click here to get to the application online

  2. Select Get Started

  3. Complete all required fields in each step of the application

Link your Shepherd Pay Portal to your Shepherd Software by adding your credentials in your Clinic Settings

  1. Navigate to Clinic Settings under Admin in your Shepherd menu

  2. Select Settings and then the Shepherd Pay tab

  3. Enter the below details provided to you once your application was processed:

    1. Source Key

    2. Shepherd Pay PIN

    3. Public Key

  4. Click Save and toggle on Enable Shepherd Pay

  5. Scroll down to EMV Chip Terminals and click 'Add Terminal' (if applicable)

    1. Enter your EMV Serial Number

      1. This number is located on the back of the device

      2. Note: if you are using a wired terminal, the device will also need to be connected to an ethernet and power connection first.

    2. Enter terminal name/location

  6. You will also see a toggle to Autosave Client Credit Cards

    1. Only credit cards that are manually entered or swiped on the USB swiper can be autosaved.

EMV Chip Processing Wired Terminal (Equinox Luxe 6200): Requires an ethernet and power connection, and can be connected via Wi-Fi to multiple workstations in your practice (one per practice). It is compatible with contactless payment types and includes a 1-year warranty. The cost is $350 (or financed for $30/month for 12 months) and deducted from a direct deposit.

EMV Chip Processing Wireless Terminal (Equinox Luxe 6200m) is the wireless battery-powered version of the above and can be used anywhere in the practice (one per practice). The 3.7 V lithium battery supports up to 225 transactions OR 4-6 hours of use with "sleep mode" disabled OR 8-10 hours with "sleep mode" active. The device comes with a power cable to recharge and take 1-3 Hours to FULLY charge: with an average of 2 hours. It also includes an optional receipt printer. The cost is $450 (or financed for $38/month for 12 months) and deducted from a direct deposit.

USB swiper is a great mobile option and can be used with a tablet/iPad or anywhere with a USB port. You can order as many as you'd like and they are fully compatible with the EMV wired terminal. The cost is $69 each (the first one is included in the processing agreement).
