How to Integrate LifeLearn ClientEd with Shepherd
Access the Integration Settings in Shepherd
In your Shepherd account, go to Admin > Integrations.
Locate LifeLearn ClientEd.
If you don’t yet have a LifeLearn account, click Sign Up to create one.
Click + Add New. Keep this modal open—you’ll return here to enter details from your LifeLearn account.
Log into Your LifeLearn Account
Open a new browser tab and go to http://new.lifelearn-cliented.com/.
Sign in with your LifeLearn credentials.
Retrieve Your API Details
Copy and Enter Your API Credentials
Set Valid Domains
Complete the Integration in Shepherd
Back in Shepherd, enter your LifeLearn login email into the Username field (this should be the only remaining empty field).
Click Validate Credentials.
Click Save.
Toggle on the credentials to activate the integration.
Attaching a LifeLearn Article to a Product in Shepherd
When a product with a linked LifeLearn article is administered, the associated article will automatically appear under the Discharge tab in the patient's SOAP.
Follow these steps to attach a LifeLearn article to a product:
Navigate to the Product
In Shepherd, go to Admin > Products.
Select the product to which you want to attach a LifeLearn article.
Enable Discharge Instructions
Locate and expand the Discharge Instructions section.
Click Import ClientEd Article.
Find the Right Article
Use the search, filter, or browse options to locate the appropriate article(s) from the LifeLearn library.
Import the Article
Once you’ve selected and opened the desired article, the Import ClientEd Article button will become active.
Click Import ClientEd Article to attach it to the product.
Once imported, the article will be linked to the product and will auto-populate in the discharge instructions whenever the product is administered.
Attaching a LifeLearn Article to a Diagnosis in Shepherd
When a diagnosis with a linked LifeLearn article is added to a SOAP, the article will automatically appear under the Discharge tab of the SOAP.
Follow these steps to attach an article:
Access the Diagnosis
In Shepherd, navigate to Admin > Diagnoses.
Select the diagnosis to which you want to attach a LifeLearn article.
Import a LifeLearn Article
Click Import ClientEd Article.
Locate the Appropriate Article
Use the search, filter, or browse options to find the relevant article in the LifeLearn library.
Import the Selected Article
Once inside the article view, the Import ClientEd Article button will be enabled.
Click Import ClientEd Article to link the article to the selected diagnosis.
Once imported, the article will automatically populate in the SOAP’s Discharge tab whenever the diagnosis is added to a patient's record.
Adding a LifeLearn Article Directly from the Discharge Tab in a SOAP
If you are not adding a diagnosis or administering a treatment that already has a linked article, you can still manually add a LifeLearn article directly from the Discharge tab within the SOAP.
Follow these steps:
Access the SOAP
Navigate to the patient’s record and open the relevant SOAP.
Open the Discharge Tab
Click on the Discharge (D) tab.
Import a LifeLearn Article
Click Import ClientEd Article.
Find the Right Article
Use the search, filter, or browse options to locate the desired article in the LifeLearn library.
Import the Selected Article
When viewing an article, the Import ClientEd Article button will become active.
Click Import ClientEd Article to attach it to the SOAP.
The imported article will now appear under the Discharge tab and can be included in the client’s take-home instructions.
Syncing LifeLearn Articles to Receive Updates
To ensure you have the most current versions of LifeLearn ClientEd articles and to resolve potential loading issues:
Sync Article Changes
Navigate to the LifeLearn ClientEd integration page in Shepherd.
Click the Sync Article Changes button.
When to Use Sync
If articles are not loading correctly or you're encountering error messages, perform a sync as your first troubleshooting step.
