Zoetis Vetscan: Integration Setup

The first step in getting your Vetscan Fuse integrated with Shepherd.

Updated over a week ago

What you need

  1. A VETSCAN FUSE, which is is a bidirectional communication system that enables integration between Shepherd and VETSCAN point-of-care diagnostic instruments.

    1. The fuse proxy needs to be set up by Zoetis. To get this set up either contact your Zoetis Diagnostic Technical Specialist (DTS) or reach out to our support team via online chat.

  2. Zoetis Client ID

Setting up the integration

  1. Open up 'Admin' in Shepherd

  2. Select 'Integrations' from the menu

  3. Choose the Zoetis Vetscan integration from the list

    1. This will open your practice's Vetscan integration page

From the integration page:

  1. Input your Client ID

    1. This is obtained from the Zoetis DTS after the fuse proxy is set up

  2. Click the green Save button

    1. Your credentials will be saved, but they have not been verified yet.

  3. Click on the toggle next to Credentials to make it Active.

  4. Click the green Save button again. This will validate your credentials.

Note: If your credentials aren't valid, try again—or contact your Zoetis Diagnostic Technical Specialist

After your credentials are validated and the Integration is Enabled, this will start the download of Zoetis Vetscan diagnostic services into the Lab Integrated Products section of Shepherd. (Admin> Products> Lab Integrated Products> Zoetis Vetscan Products).

Expect this process to take between 5–30 minutes to initialize (depending on your internet speed).

Editing the Client Id credentials:

  1. Open up 'Admin' in Shepherd

  2. Select 'Integrations' from the menu

  3. Choose the Zoetis Vetscan integration from the list

  4. Click on the 'Active' toggle to disable the integration

  5. Edit/Update the Client Id and click the green 'Save' Button

  6. Click on the toggle next to Credentials to make it Active again.

  7. Click the green Save button again. This will validate your updated credentials.

Devices

After the integration is turned on, you will see a list of devices associated with your fuse. Be sure that all of your devices (analyzers) show an active status.

Syncing Devices

If a device is turned off or is in sleep mode, it will appear with an inactive status. If a device is inactive, it will not receive the lab tests ordered from Shepherd.

If not all of the devices are displaying or functioning properly:

  1. Confirm the device is turned on

  2. Sync devices

If the devices are still not displaying or functioning properly, contact your Zoetis DTS.

Renaming Devices

If you have multiple devices, you can click on the edit icon under the 'actions' section on the right-hand side.
