Vetek Labs: Ordering Services

Order Vetek services straight from a SOAP—and view results when ready

Updated over a week ago

This integration is currently in Beta testing.

An announcement will be made when it is available to all customers.

We've made ordering a Vetek service from a SOAP super simple: it's almost identical to adding a normal product or service to a patient's record—albeit with some Vetek-specific steps that you'll be familiar with.

Adding and Administering a Vetek service to a Tx plan

If you've added treatments to a patient's record, this part of the process will look familiar to you.

  1. Open the patient's active SOAP

  2. Navigate to the 'Plan' section

  3. Scroll to 'Order Treatments'

  4. Search for and select the Vetek service you want to add

  5. Select the 'Add' button to add it to the Tx plan

  6. Select the 'Administer' icon

  7. This will generate a Vetek modal

Ordering Vetek Services

Vetek has a unique modal that appears when you add a service (or services) to a patient's Tx plan.

In the modal, you'll need to:

  • Select the Specimen Date and Provider for each order

  • Enter a Source per service (Optional)

  • Option to include Comments

  • Select 'Save'

Removing a Vetek Service from a SOAP

If you need to remove the Vetek service from a treatment plan:

  1. Open the SOAP

  2. Navigate to the Plan

  3. Open the Tx History

  4. Click the 'Undo' button on the right under actions

Note: you'll still need to cancel the lab within Vetek. This popup will remind you:

Ordering a Vetek Service Without the Integration

If you've already ordered a Vetek Service outside of Shepherd and want to make sure it's added to the patient's invoice, you're able to order services without using the integration.

  1. Open the patient's active SOAP

  2. Navigate to the 'Plan' section

  3. Scroll to 'Order Treatments'

  4. Search for and select the Vetek service you want to add

  5. Select the 'Add' button

  6. Select the 'Edit' icon under 'Actions' in the Tx plan

From here:

  1. Toggle the 'Administer Without Vetek Integration' toggle to the on position

  2. Adjust the priority and add additional instructions (if needed)

  3. Select 'Save'

  4. Administer the treatment in the Tx Plan
