Overview on features available in Read-only Mode

Updated over a week ago

In case of an outage, the Read-only Mode allows you to access essential data to help minimize disruption to your practice.

Logging In

Log in to Read-only Mode access with your standard credentials.

What’s Available

Read-only access data includes patient medical record exports, today’s appointment schedule, invoices, and the product report.

Patient Medical Record Exports

Search for a patient’s name on the Patients page and click the download icon in the right column. The entire medical record for the patient will be available in a PDF format and saved to your device.

Note: You may need to turn off the pop-up blocker to allow the Shepherd application to download the patient's record.

Today’s Appointment Schedule

Appointments scheduled for today (only) are available in Ready-only Mode.

Invoices

All past invoices are available to view in Ready-only Mode. Search a client's name or the invoice number (if you have it) to generate matching results. Select the invoice you're looking for to access it.

Upon selecting an invoice, you may print it or send it via email.

Product Report

The Product Report is available in Ready-only Mode. You may run the report by Active, Inactive, or All Products.

You can view the report or download a PDF or CSV.

Shepherd Pay - Online Portal

If you use Shepherd Pay, you can process payments directly in your online portal and then log them in to Shepherd later.

For more details on processing payments, please visit Shepherd Pay: Gateway Portal Transactions and Invoicing.

Tips for Appointments During an Outage

Here are tips to help your practice during a Shepherd outage:

  1. View client information and reason for visit on the "Schedule" page

  2. Leverage the Product Report to obtain prices

  3. Log appointments in a spreadsheet

    1. For each client, write a quick description of services/products and the price

    2. At the end of the appointment, calculate the sum of all the prices to collect payment

  4. Handwrite prescription labels and take photos of them with the hospital iPad/phone to upload them to patient records later
