SMS updates, custom payment types, and more!

Updated over a week ago

SMS Updates

  • Message Co-Owner

    • You can now start a message with a co-owner listed on a client profile.

  • Mark Messages Unread

    • Read a message but need another user to see it or need to respond later? Mark it unread to return the red dot 'unread message' notification.

  • Assign Patient(s) to Conversation

    • Select one or more patients from the client's profile to assign to a conversation to increase clarity and visibility in the conversation history AND to have the conversation added to the assigned patient's (or patients') medical record(s) once closed.

  • Quick Add Conversation to Medical Record

    • When closing a conversation, you're now given the option to close it and upload it to the medical record, removing the step of needing to download the PDF first.

    • When a conversation is uploaded to a medical record it will now be displayed directly in the history and not as an external PDF.

Custom Payment Types

You can now add custom payment types for logging payments in Shepherd. Add new payment types from the Payment Types tab under Settings in the Clinic Settings tab of your Shepherd Admin menu. Edit or archive payment types as needed. Any edits to Payment Type Name will historically adjust the data in reporting, so be mindful when making edits.

Multiple EMV Terminals

Clinics using Shepherd Pay can now place multiple EMV chip terminals throughout the clinic, allowing multiple clients to be checked out at once or from different places. Add multiple terminal serial numbers and give them unique names based on their location in the clinic from within the Shepherd Pay subtab in the Settings tab of your admin Clinic Settings.

TIP: We suggest physically labeling your EMV terminals with the Terminal Name you add in Shepherd to be sure you're selecting the proper terminal when taking a payment!

Increased Locked User Attempts

The number of incorrect credential login attempts has been increased to 10. Don't forget! Any clinic admin can help a user unlock their login from Admin > Users in the Shepherd Admin menu.
