Boarding Calendar Setup
Add Resources
To set up your boarding calendar, go to Admin > Scheduling and navigate to the Boarding Resources tab.
Once that's open, click the +Add New button. This will take you to a new boarding calendar resource section, where you can create one location where you're able to board a patient. Repeat this for all places where you're able to board a patient. For example, you may create 5 "cages", 5 "runs" and 2 "cat condos".
Activating the Boarding Calendar
Under your main clinic settings, you can enable or disable the boarding calendar. Navigate to Admin -> Clinic Settings -> Settings and toggle on Enable Boarding Calendar.
Scheduling Boarding Reservations
Open the calendar (Schedule > Boarding)
Find an open slot in a boarding location that will work for the guest
Click on the slot
Fill out client/patient information
Add a check-in date/time and a check-out date/time
Click 'Book Reservation' to confirm
Note: regardless of the specific check-in and check-out times added to the reservation, the calendar will show the reservation at half of the day for check-in and half of the day for check-out. To see specific times, you will need to open the individual reservation.
Checking In a Patient
After the reservation has been created, you can open the reservation and check in the patient just like you can from the appointment schedule. When you check in a patient, it is going to open a new SOAP on the dashboard.
TIP: Create a location under Admin settings for "Boarding" and use this location for all boarding SOAPs on the dashboard. This will allow you to filter out or filter to see only boarding patients as needed.
