Purpose

Rabies certificates allow you to generate, track, and share proof of rabies vaccinations for patients. Certificates can be created automatically when a rabies vaccine is administered or manually when needed, ensuring accurate documentation and easy access for clients.

Automatic Rabies Certificates

To have certificates generated automatically:

  1. Go to Admin → Products.

  2. Select the rabies vaccine to edit.

  3. Check the Rabies Vaccine checkbox.

  4. Click Save.

Combo Vaccines

If you use a combination vaccine that includes rabies, you can also mark it as a Rabies Vaccine. This ensures certificates and reporting remain accurate.

Entering Rabies Tag Numbers

When administering a rabies vaccine:

  • Enter the tag number under Tx History or the invoice line item.

  • The rabies certificate will automatically populate with the tag number, ready to print or email.

Lot numbers and expiration dates configured during vaccine setup will also auto-populate on the certificate. These certificates can also be reviewed directly in the treatment history or printed and emailed for client convenience.

Printing with Invoices

In Admin → Clinic Settings → Financial Settings -> Invoice Settings, you can enable Include Rabies Certificates on Invoices. When enabled, certificates automatically print with invoices as a combined PDF.

Manual Rabies Certificates

To create a certificate manually:

  1. Go to the Vaccinations tab on the patient profile.

  2. Scroll to the Certifications section and select +Add Rabies Certificate.

  3. Search for and select the rabies vaccine.

  4. Vaccine details (lot, serial number, expiration date) will auto-populate.

  5. Add a rabies tag number or note if needed.

Rabies Certificate Notes

You can set a default note to appear on all rabies certificates:

  1. Go to Admin → Clinic Settings → Practice Management → Notes & Disclaimers.

  2. Enter text in the Rabies Certificate field.

  3. Click Save.

This note will automatically appear on every rabies certificate generated.
