Purpose
Relief doctors can be added in Shepherd with their own user accounts, scheduling, and license type. This allows you to manage their access, assign availability, and deactivate them when their service period ends.
Adding a Relief Doctor
Go to Admin → Users and navigate to the Users tab.
Select Add New.
Enter the doctor’s details (name, login information, role).
Share the generated PIN with the doctor.
Select the license type Relief Doctor.
Press Save.
Adding Multiple Relief Doctors
Repeat the same steps for each individual. The process is identical regardless of how many relief doctors you add.
Removing or Deactivating a Relief Doctor
When a relief doctor’s assignment ends:
Open their user profile under Admin → Users → Users.
In the upper right corner, select Deactivate.
Select Yes on the prompt
This removes the relief doctor from your active roster.
As a safety option, you can lock their access temporarily before full deactivation.
Key Considerations
Always share the generated PIN during account setup so the doctor can log in.
Use the Relief Doctor license type to configure permissions correctly.
Schedule availability by specific dates rather than routine hours.
