Overview

Shepherd releases regular updates that include new features, improvements, and bug fixes. To help you stay informed, each release is announced in advance and supported by detailed release notes.

Release Announcements

Release notes are sent several days before a scheduled release through an in-app chat announcement. A banner with a link to the full Release Notes is also posted the morning of the release day. These communications include a summary of upcoming changes so your team can prepare and adjust workflows as needed.

Where to find Release Notes

You can access release notes in several ways:

In-app Chat Messages

  • Click the blue chat bubble in the bottom right corner of any Shepherd page.

  • Select Messages to review previous release announcements.

News

  • Click the News icon in the same chat window to access a summarized version of the Release Notes with a link to the full release notes.

  • Summarized versions remain in the in-app News section for 3 months.

Help Center

  • Full release notes are available in the Release Notes Collection on the Shepherd Help Center.

  • Full versions remain available on the Help Center for 6 months.

Refreshing After an Update

If a new product version has been released and you aren’t seeing recent changes, try a hard refresh:

  • Windows: CTRL + Shift + R

  • Mac: CMD + Shift + R

If you had Shepherd pages open during deployment, a pop-up notification will appear prompting you to refresh your page.

If you log in after a release, no refresh is needed - new changes load automatically.

Support Fixes vs. Product Updates

Support Fix Releases

  • Occur outside the regular schedule and focus on urgent bug fixes or workflow-blocking issues.

  • Deployed as soon as they are ready to avoid disruption.

Product updates

  • Larger, planned releases occur approximately every 21 days on a Wednesday, adjusted for holidays.

  • Include new features, enhancements, and integrations.

  • Scheduled for 2:00 AM ET.

Submitting Feature Ideas

  1. Click your username in the bottom left corner of any Shepherd page.

  2. Select Feature Ideas.

  3. Click Submit Idea to share your suggestion or vote on existing ideas.

Your feedback goes directly to our Product Team and helps shape future improvements.
