New Features
Inventory Lot Tracking
Lot tracking for all inventory items is now supported, and product level lot entry is no longer necessary. Any existing vaccine or controlled item level lot information will remain intact until inventory lot features are enabled. At that time, any existing lots will automatically be transferred to the linked inventory item. With these new inventory lot tracking features, lots can be defined during the purchase order receiving process. This means no more lot entries for each retail item code if you are utilizing inventory and inventory lot features!
Once inventory lot tracking settings are enabled, they cannot be disabled!

Invoice Customization | New Settings
We are introducing 2 new invoice customization settings: Include Patient Reminders on Invoice, and Include Appointments on Invoice.
These new settings allow you to more specifically define what types of information you prefer to include on your invoices shared with clients, specifically patient reminders and appointment details.
The existing logic on invoice included reminders has also been improved to only include reminders for patients included on the invoicing event.

Production | New Production User Customization Setting
We are introducing a new preference setting for the production user default behavior within SOAPs. When the new setting, 'Prevent overriding of supervising doctor as the default production user assignment' is enabled, the default production user assignment for any services or treatments within a SOAP will always default to the supervising doctor. When the new setting remains disabled, the current existing logic will be the default. This means that when a user who has production enabled administers a treatment in a SOAP, the administering user is assigned as the production user for the treatment, not the supervising doctor of the case.

Pet Portal | New Client Address Fields
Our Pet Portal client information fields have been expanded to now offer new client address specific fields. These are required fields, and ensure clients are always providing the most complete information when scheduling or requesting appointments through the Pet Portal workflow. This is especially beneficial for any practices, such as mobile clinics, who scheduled based on client location.
Schedule | Hide Provider Column to Match Unavailability
We are introducing a new setting under scheduling provider settings to customize whether provider columns are shown on the appointment calendar on days where the provider has no availability indicated. When the new setting is enabled, providers that do not have any availability defined for a day will automatically have their column hidden from view. The provider column can still manually be retrieved from the calendar settings if needed.

Feature Updates
Body Maps | Acupuncture Canine + Equine
Two new body maps have been made available! Acupuncture body maps have been added for Canine and Equine species. As a reminder, body map availability can be managed from your clinic settings. You can access body map settings by following: Admin -> Clinic Settings -> Settings -> Body Maps
CPR/DNR Note Visibility
We have enhanced the access to CPR/DNR notes by supporting a hover over action anywhere the CPR/DNR icon is presently accessible. This icon is usually displayed anywhere the patient's name is shown.
Estimates | New Page Designs
Our estimate page has received a new design layout to better support expanding feature needs. You'll appreciate a stronger visual association between bundle items and their parent bundle, a more central Rx identification toggle, and the 'Add Product' search bar has been relocated to the bottom of the estimate rows for a more fluid estimate creation process.

Appointment Notifications | Separately Manage Form Sending
We have optimized our appointment communication features to support disabling appointment notifications, but retaining the ability to still trigger forms. This assists in configurations where a third-party appointment communication vendor is utilized for client communications, but appointment related forms are still handled through Shepherd.

Go Back Behavior Enhancements
To better support more fluid navigation during forward and backward movement between pages, we have enhanced our Go Back behavior. When 'Go Back' is selected from any page, you will now more confidently be returned to the specific area or search where you originally navigated from.
Multi-Location | Home Clinic Filter for Mass Communication Audience
In a group account configuration, where a central client/patient is shared, it is now possible to filter clients based upon preferred home clinic when preparing mass communication messages at the clinic level.
Prescription Refills | Deactivated Prescribing Doctor Account
We have enhanced our prescription refill workflow to include guided instruction for updating any prescriptions with a deactivated prescribing doctor assigned. This will ensure any future refills are accurately assigned to an active Doctor user who is overseeing patient care presently.
Prescription + Medication Expiration Field Enhancements
Our prescription page now supports a specific expiration date field for medication expiration details separate from the prescription's validity expiration date. The new field titled 'Expiration' aligns with the dispensed medication's expiration date, while the 'Refill Thru' field relates to the prescription's expiration date. All formerly defined expiration dates for any prescriptions are recorded under the 'Refills Thru' field within patient records.
With the availability of this feature, you now have a new label variable 'Expiration' supported for the handling of the medication expiration specifically. Don't forget to update your label templates to include this new variable!
Reporting | Design Enhancements
As a part of our larger report optimization objective, our foundational report pages have received an initial design enhancement. Some changes you can appreciate is alternating row coloring for easier visual tracking, and direct hyperlink capabilities for client profiles, patient profiles, and invoices. Client name and address columns have also been condensed to minimize the need for horizontal navigation within report pages.
Reporting | Invoice Line Items Report Changes
Our Invoice Line Items report now includes additional data columns with filtering capabilities to support more focused invoicing analytic review and evaluation. New columns include: patient species and patient breed.
The existing production user column has also been optimized to support filtering by 'Unassigned' rows specifically to more easily identify any invoicing events not assigned a product user.
Reporting | Patient Report Changes
Our Patient report now includes additional data columns to support more focused patient database analysis. New patient related columns include: Patient Age, Patient Alert, and Patient Last Weight.
Patient Age and DOB columns have received specialized filter updates to support more detailed ranged filtering for enhanced data refinement capabilities.
Reporting | Prescription Report Changes
Our Prescription report has received some advanced filtering enhancements. The report now supports advanced filtering by prescriptions indicated as controlled medication. You can also generate the report using a new advanced filter specifying the prescription type: in-house, written, or all. Additionally, the Prescription report also offers the ability to generate results focused on a specific medication or several without the need for further filtering within the report itself.
These changes support more focused report results without the need to additional refine included data later.
Reporting | Sales Tax Report Changes
Our Sales Tax report now includes additional data columns for Taxable and Non-Taxable Return Sales, as well as Net Taxable and Non-Taxable details. This ensure you are able to fully reconcile sales tax related details.
Sales tax values have also been divided into two separate tables for added clarity. We now support a dedicated table for the Sales Summary, and one dedicated table for the Sales Tax Amount. Sales tax reporting can still be reviewed as Accrual or Cash Basis.
Schedule | Block-off events do not count in appointment count
Our scheduling calendar logic for appointment count calculation has been enhanced to not include block-off appointment events in the total appointment count.
Time Clock | Custom Timesheet Export Enhancements
Our Time Clock Timesheet export capabilities have been expanded to now support exporting Timesheets by custom date ranges. This allows for reviewing employee hours over a custom date range.
